What it is
Excessive sweating (medically known as hyperhidrosis) is rarely about temperature. It is the body’s sympathetic system over-signalling, most often under the arms, and most patients have lived with it since adolescence. By the time they arrive they have already chosen darker colours, avoided pale shirts, and accepted that summer events come with calculation.
The treatment is straightforward, predictable, and one of the most relieved conversations we have. Anti-wrinkle injections placed across the underarm block the signal that activates the glands, and most patients are dry within a week. For milder cases, or to maintain between sessions, a medical-strength antiperspirant is the honest first step, and Dr Beiki will advise on it before considering injections.
