What it is
Bruxism is the involuntary grinding or clenching of the teeth, most often during sleep, sometimes throughout the working day. Patients arrive with jaw pain, tension headaches, earache, worn enamel, and a lower face that has gradually become wider than they remember it being.
We address it with anti-wrinkle injections into the masseter muscle, which both relieves the clenching and, as a welcome side-effect, refines the wider jaw the bruxism created. The functional relief usually arrives first; the slimming follows over four to eight weeks.

Where it isn’t the answer
It will not stop you chewing. The masseter retains function; only the over-activity is softened.
It will not work overnight. Functional relief at one to two weeks; aesthetic slimming at four to eight.
It will not address the cause if the cause is dental misalignment. We will refer you back to your dentist if so.
It will not be permanent on its first round. The muscle re-bulks if untreated; many patients extend intervals over years.
It will not change your bite or your speech. Doses are clinical, not cosmetic-led.
